Town Square Wheaton's inaugural Girls Night Out on Thursday, Oct. 22, will raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, with nine businesses at the Naperville Road shopping center offering live music, food specials and raffles during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

That fundraiser anchors a run of three events at The Square over 10 days, starting with a drive-in movie night Friday, Oct. 16, and closing with trick-or-treating, free pumpkins and a free document-shredding day Saturday, Oct. 24, according to a fall schedule Macaroni KID Wheaton published Oct. 12.

Girls Night Out: $10 ticket, $10 back

Tickets for the Oct. 22 event cost $10 and include a $10 voucher redeemable at participating food and retail businesses that evening, plus entry into a prize drawing, Patch reported.

Warren's Ale House will offer half-off wine bottles with live music by Susanne Schwartz. La Plaza Taqueria will serve two tacos and a margarita for $20 with live music by Bella Capri. Bev's Blooms will host musician Lisa Thomen, and Scissors and Scotch will feature Cheryl Rodey.

Other participants include 302 South, offering 10% off to anyone wearing pink; Hot Workx, with complimentary five-minute chair massages; Jade Aesthetics, running a photo booth; Meredith Jaye, providing a free mini consultation and 15% off purchases; and The Perfect Thing/The Babe and Bodega, offering permanent jewelry and 20% off.

Drive-in movie night Friday

The drive-in movie night takes place Friday, Oct. 16, at 2001 S. Naperville Road. The center described it as a double-feature experience. Further details, including film titles and entry times, were not listed on the fall schedule.

Pumpkins, trick-or-treating and shredding Oct. 24

Saturday, Oct. 24, bundles three activities. Shoppers who show any October receipt from a Town Square merchant can pick up a free pumpkin at the Center Green. Kids can trick-or-treat at participating stores. Residents can also bring confidential documents for free on-site shredding.

Holiday events including markets and a winter festival are planned but have not been dated. The center's full schedule is at townsquarewheaton.com/events.
