The Wheaton Park District is adding a new adults-only event to its fall calendar: an evening of bourbon tastings, live piano music and lantern-lit paths at Memorial Park.

Memorial Park After Dark runs Saturday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at 225 Karlskoga Ave. The 21-and-over ticketed event is a new format for the downtown Wheaton park, according to Patch.

Early-bird pricing expires Wednesday, Sept. 16. Through that date, general admission is $20 per person. General admission with Bourbon Trail access is $60. Starting Sept. 17, those prices rise to $25 and $65. Tickets purchased at the gate on event night cost $30 for general admission or $80 with the Bourbon Trail.

Tickets are available through Eventbrite.

The Bourbon Trail is the centerpiece. Attendees visit different tasting stations and receive information about each pour. The event also features what organizers call "ghouling pianos," a live piano performance with a Halloween twist, along with food vendors and lantern lighting.

The park district has hosted other 21-and-over ticketed events at its facilities, including HOPtober Fest, a beer-sampling event at Memorial Park, and Uncorked, a wine-tasting evening at Cosley Zoo. Memorial Park After Dark is a new addition to that lineup, according to the district's event listing.
