Wheaton Warrenville South's girls tennis team claimed the DuKane Conference championship for the second consecutive year, the school's athletics department announced Saturday on X.

The Tigers now advance to the IHSA State Series. Dates and brackets have not yet been posted.

WWS competed against Batavia, Glenbard North, Lake Park, St. Charles North and Wheaton North at the DuKane Conference tournament, hosted at St. Charles East, according to a Daily Herald schedule listing.

The conference title caps a stretch of sustained success for the program. During the 2025-26 season, the Tigers finished fourth in the IHSA Class 2A state series after earning a sectional title, according to IHSA records. In 2023-24, WWS also won a sectional championship and placed 10th at state.

Patti Clousing coached the Tigers through those runs. IHSA records list her as head coach for the 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

The back-to-back DuKane titles mark a program that has steadily climbed. In October 2025, after WWS won the conference crown, even rival Wheaton North's athletics account acknowledged the Tigers' dominance:

@athleticswnhs: "We gained 7 points on SCE & passed them for 2nd place overall behind the Tigers. Awesome DKC tournament for these girls!"

Wheaton North also competed in this year's conference tournament but finished behind the Tigers again.

No individual results have been released. The IHSA State Series schedule and sectional assignments had not been posted as of Saturday, Oct. 10.
