The DuPage County Sheriff's Office has set up a Memorial Wall honoring those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and the wars that followed.

The display is in the lobby of the sheriff's office at 501 N. County Farm Rd. in Wheaton. It will be open throughout September. The wall also pays tribute to military personnel, police officers and firefighters.

This year marks 25 years since the attacks.

Sheriff James Mendrick said the wall is meant as a place for reflection. "This is a day of remembrance to honor those whom made the ultimate sacrifice," Mendrick said in a Sept. 1 Patch article announcing the display.

Mendrick also said his office honors first responders and members of the armed forces who protect the community.
