Warrenville residents still clearing downed branches from recent storms must get them to the curb before Monday, Aug. 17. The city's Public Works Department will run a special, no-cost brush pickup starting at 7 a.m. that day, beginning in Zone 3.

No phone call or service request is needed. Crews will work through the zones automatically.

The city posted the alert on its website Tuesday, Aug. 11, giving residents five days to prepare their brush before trucks roll.

What to know before Monday

The rules are straightforward but strict. Brush under 3 inches in diameter must be bundled securely with twine, with each bundle weighing no more than 50 pounds. Branches over 3 inches in diameter can be left whole but should be placed at the road with the butt end facing the street.

There is no limit on how much storm-damaged brush residents can set out.

Any brush left in loose, unorganized piles or not properly bundled will be skipped, according to the city.

Residents unsure which zone they live in can check the city's zone map online. The alert does not specify how many zones Warrenville has or when crews will reach zones beyond Zone 3.

This is a one-time pickup for storm damage, separate from the city's regular brush collection schedule.
