Wheaton families exploring Catholic high school options for their middle schoolers can meet representatives from 16 schools at an admissions fair on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Benedictine University in Lisle.

St. Francis High School, the Wheaton college-prep school at 2130 W. Roosevelt Road, is among the featured participants. The school reports a 100% college acceptance rate, an average ACT score of 26 over the past four years and a 16:1 student-to-teacher ratio, according to its website.

The fair runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benedictine's Daniel L. Goodwin Hall of Business, 5700 College Road in Lisle. Walk-ins are welcome. Families can also register in advance through the diocese's event page.

Sponsored by the Diocese of Joliet and Benedictine University, in partnership with the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Diocese of Rockford, the event brings together schools from across the Chicago suburbs to discuss academics, admissions and financial aid, according to Shaw Local.

Diocese of Joliet Superintendent of Schools Greg Porod said in the diocese's Aug. 22 news release that Catholic schools prepare students for college while helping them build character and faith alongside academic skills.

Montini Catholic in Lombard is the other DuPage County school on the list. The full roster also includes Benet Academy (Lisle), Aurora Central Catholic, IC Catholic Prep (Elmhurst), Joliet Catholic Academy, Marmion Academy (Aurora), Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park), Providence Catholic (New Lenox), Rosary College Prep (Aurora) and six other schools from the broader Chicago area and beyond.

St. Francis has been operating since 1956, according to its website, and holds National Blue Ribbon School and Microsoft Showcase School designations. The school serves grades 9-12 and competes as the Spartans in the Chicago Catholic League.
