Grades 1-12 start Friday, Aug. 14, and families across Wheaton and Warrenville have five days to get the full school year mapped out. Beyond the first day we reported Aug. 3, the District 200 board-approved calendar lays out 175 student attendance days, five institute days, two weeks of winter break and a tentative graduation date of Saturday, May 29, 2027, for Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South seniors.
Before classes begin
Wednesday, Aug. 12 is an Institute Day and Thursday, Aug. 13 is a Teacher Work Day. Neither day has students in the building. Kindergarteners start Monday, Aug. 17; early childhood begins Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Fall no-school days
- Monday, Sept. 7 — Labor Day
- Friday, Sept. 25 — Institute Day
- Thursday, Oct. 8 and Friday, Oct. 9 — District-wide parent-teacher conferences
- Monday, Oct. 12 — Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day
- Monday, Nov. 2 — Institute Day
- Tuesday, Nov. 3 — Election Day
- Monday, Nov. 23 through Friday, Nov. 27 — Thanksgiving recess
The first semester wraps Tuesday, Dec. 22, with finals complete. High school report cards go out Thursday, Jan. 7, 2027.
Winter break
Students are off Wednesday, Dec. 23 through Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2027. Tuesday, Jan. 6 is a Teacher Work Day for grades 6-12 and an Institute Day for K-5, so no students attend. Classes resume Thursday, Jan. 7, 2027.
Spring no-school days
- Monday, Jan. 18, 2027 — Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Monday, Feb. 15, 2027 — Presidents' Day
- Friday, Feb. 26, 2027 — Institute Day
- Friday, March 26, 2027 — Good Friday
- Monday, March 29 through Friday, April 2, 2027 — Spring break
End of year
The tentative last day of school is Friday, May 28, 2027, assuming no emergency days are used. Graduations for Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South are scheduled for Saturday, May 29, 2027. If snow days or other closures eat into the calendar, makeup days are reserved starting Tuesday, June 1, 2027.
Monday, May 31, 2027 (Memorial Day) is a no-school day.
Report card dates to know
Middle school quarters end Oct. 19, Jan. 8, March 16 and May 28. Elementary trimesters end Nov. 13, Feb. 25 and May 28.
The calendar was approved by the Board of Education on Dec. 11, 2024, and last revised Feb. 10, 2025. Families should confirm at cusd200.org in case a further revision has been issued.
